Making Tax Digital

Make your life easier whilst complying with the requirements of making tax digital.

The legislation and what’s required of you.

Making Tax Digital (MTD) is a key part of the government’s plans to digitise, and make fundamental changes to, the tax system, making it more effective, more efficient, and simpler for taxpayers.

We have published a couple of articles in the past providing some background to MTD: Initial Article and our update Article

From April 2019, The Making Tax Digital requirements will apply to all VAT registered businesses for their VAT obligations, where their turnovers are in excess of the VAT threshold.

A company that really cares about giving the best service at a reasonable cost rather than just taking your money.

This means that businesses registered for VAT, with a turnover in excess of the VAT threshold, should submit quarterly returns to HMRC via MTD compliant software.

MTD will be available on a voluntary basis to other businesses who want to benefit from the concept before it becomes mandatory.

From our research with our clients, many are aware of MTD, but worried about the desired changes to the way they work, especially if they do not keep digital records by keeping their records on a spreadsheet or with manual cashbook.

Are you aware what may need to change and how to make the change as painless as possible?
