CRM has a strong tradition of supporting local Oxfordshire charities each year as our Charity Partner. In 2018 we raised over £8,000 for Sobell House Hospice and in 2019 we were proud to raise £6,082.41 for our charity of the year Maggie’s Cancer Centre in Oxford.
For 2020, we are delighted to announce that the CRM staff voted for Daybreak Oxford to be our Charity Partner. Daybreak is a vital local charity that offers respite days for people living with dementia, helping couples stay together at home and delaying or avoiding residential care.
Dementia is incurable but not untreatable and day club attendance is one of the few recommended treatments so Daybreak runs three-day centres in Kidlington, Greater Leys and North Oxford. At the centres, they help people with dementia to maintain their skills and abilities, provide enjoyment and companionship and give family carers a break from their care-giving responsibilities.
For some club members, their visit to a Daybreak centre might be the only time they leave their home each week. Daybreak also runs a Carers Support Group to offer support, advice and guidance.
Lindsay Manifold from Daybreak Oxford said: “We believe that with the best care and support, people can live well with dementia. We are delighted to welcome CRM Oxford as a vital charity supporter to help us help more people living with dementia in Oxfordshire.”
At CRM, we see the benefits of charity partnership as a win-win situation. Our staff get involved in choosing the charity and have fun organising the events and raising money, which is so rewarding. In addition, we engage our clients and other stakeholders to get involved and do some good while strengthening our relationships and having a great time.
“We are so pleased to have Daybreak Oxford as our charity partner for 2020,” said CRM Managing Director Tony Hobbs. “These days there are very few people who are not touched by dementia in their family so it was really important to our staff to work with a charity that offers wonderful support to keep families together for longer when dementia strikes.”
