Paul Skinner appointed Director at Chapman Robinson & Moore

Chapman Robinson & Moore is delighted to announce that Paul Skinner, who has been with the firm for 16 years and a qualified accountant for 10 years, has been appointed a Director.

Paul joined CRM in 2004 straight from school with A levels. Within 5½ years, he had completed all his ACCA exams and became a fully qualified accountant. Paul will build on his expertise in accountancy systems and guide the team through their IT issues as well as further developing his portfolio of clients.

Paul is delighted with his promotion: “It is great that my service and experience have been recognised and rewarded, even in these difficult times when some businesses are struggling to grow. I look forward to helping more clients with their accounts and striving to maintain CRM’s position as an accountancy firm with much more to offer.”

One of Paul’s passions is to mentor young people, through football and at work. He helps younger members of the team at CRM through their accountancy qualifications and guides the youngsters at his football club: “Being given the opportunity to ‘earn and learn’ at the same time was very appealing to me as a teenager.

“I was attracted to accountancy in school as I had an aptitude for maths and business studies. University isn’t right for everyone and I tell the lads at football that getting into the world of work works really well if you have a supportive employer like I did and if you have an idea of what you’d like to do.

“With 16 years under my belt at CRM, I take great satisfaction from seeing the younger members of the team develop. I manage the performance reviews and work with all team members to instigate great new ideas. I really enjoy getting to know our clients’ businesses and helping them to save money and grow successfully, there’s more to this job than just number crunching!”

Despite a nasty knee injury at the moment, Paul still enjoys playing football for Yarnton FC and supporting Arsenal, but he feels that perhaps a move into management alone isn’t too far away!

Speaking of Paul’s promotion, Tony Hobbs, CRM Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul onto the board of Directors. He is a valuable member of the CRM team with his extensive knowledge of accountancy systems and has built great relationships based on trust with his clients. During the Coronavirus lockdown, Paul was an ever-reliable presence in the office for clients and employees alike and he will continue to be a real asset to our established business.”
